Best Gun Holster for SIG P220?

That is something you really should ask him. When it comes to firearms and gear it really makes a big difference in regards to what fits him, his needs, comfort, etc. If this is for a Duty Weapon or CCW it has to fit him as close to perfect as possible for it to work for him.
I can give some of my likes maybe to give some insight on what to ask him or show him some options. My all time favorite holsters are the BlackHawk Serpa CQC holsters. My second favorite for range use and such are the Fobus holsters.

This all depends on how he carries it, either inside or outside waistband, shoulder, or ankle. I carry most of my handguns in a Comp-Tac MTAC holster GREAT holster with some great design features.

I’d say tell him you want to buy him a holster from a good maker like Kramer, Milt Sparks, Mitch Rosen. All best quality items perhaps a little expensive but you do get your money’s worth and then some. Just let him know you wanted him to get the one that will be most appropriate based on how he wants to carry. It’s very personal choice as there are some folks can’t use one style comfortably or they simply prefer one way over another.
P.S. — don’t forget a properly built belt to make sure it’s supports both his pants and the pistol well.
