Most injected molded holsters ( plastic, kydex and the like) will scratch a gun finish. Blue finish gun will go the fastest. Stainless guns will last longer, but will show signs of scratching after a while. You just can’t get away from holster wear.
All holsters will wear a gun’s finish. The more the gun is in the holster, the more the finish will wear.
Keep the inside of the holster clean. Debris in the holster acts like sandpaper.
If you are not carrying the gun, take it out of the holster. The holster is a poor place to store a gun.
Pick your finish, some are very tough. Blued guns wear the fastest, but at the same time, you can have the gun polished and re-blued for a reasonable amount.
